This book reveals the investigation of socio-economic and ecological interactions between the Sundarban farmers and Sundarban itself. It involves the illustration of mangrove ecosystem services, the complexity of the relationships between functional ecosystems, market integration, livelihood and the ability to maintain human well-being. The unique habitat of the Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem is dependent upon the hydrological regime. Thus, this is a comprehensive study to understand the hydrologic behaviour and the changes that have taken place due to anthropogenic activities in and around the area is fundamental to the management of natural resources and environment. Covering approximately 60 sq km in the estuarine ecosystem of mangrove forests, of Sundarban the present article documents the results of monitoring, modelling and analysis of organic farming in the Sundarbans. Greater market integration in Sundarban corresponds with larger material, energy and monetary throughout.
