Description
This publication includes three papers which specify some important issues in the Western Balkans region. The paper deals specifically with issues of security, policy-making, interethnic relations, the development of democracy, NATO's role in the Balkan region, Russia's role and the impact of aggression in Ukraine, as well as other issues that are essential for regional peace and security. Each part of the paper contains the abstract, introduction and conclusions separately, while the references are all included at the end of the paper. The Balkan region, and especially the Western Balkans, has been in constant turmoil, especially in the 1990s, marking the most violent history on the European continent since World War II. Given this, increased attention has been given to this region by the European Union, with the aim of achieving lasting peace and security.
