Description

The promulgation of the WCT and the WPPT has been a very commendable development towards helping national governments in reforming their various copyright laws in other to meet the current challenges of protecting and enforcing copyright on the Internet. However, in order to ensure effective and adequate copyright protection on the Internet, countries must work together. A country cannot protect its cyberspace in isolation, the World Wide Web operates by networking and interaction across the borders and so countries must see the worth of protecting copyright on the internet. Cultural diversity and interaction have expanded the demand for cultural products all over the world including literary and artistic work, it is therefore imperative that a collaborative effort is ensured in the international community in order to encourage more creative works and reduce market failure of literary and artistic work.
