One of our era's greatest menaces is urban air pollution which has become a serious environmental problem, on account not only of its impact on climate change but also its impact on public and individual health due to increasing morbidity and mortality. There are many pollutants that are major factors in disease in humans. Air pollutants, that are of principal concern, are suspended Particulate matter (PM 10µm & PM2.5µm), Nitrogen oxides (NOX), Sulphur oxides (SOx), Carbon monoxide (CO), Volatile organic compounds (VOCS), Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) and Ground level ozone (O3) etc. These pollutants associated with human health are drawing concern from the health research communities, scientific communities, environmental regulatory organizations, industrial sector and public sector. Air pollution has various health effects. The health of susceptible and sensitive individuals can be impacted even on low air pollution days.
