David Sillam-Dussès is professor at the Laboratory of Experimental and Comparative Ethology (LEEC) at the University Sorbonne Paris Nord in France. He is an expert in termite’s biology and behavior. He started to study termite’s pheromones during his M.Sc. (got in 2001) and his PhD thesis (defended in 2004). Then, he spent more than five years abroad (USA and Czech Republic) and two years in Paris, where he studied reproduction, defense, evolution, symbiosis, and chemical communication in termites. Finally, he obtained a permanent position at the LEEC in 2012. Since then, he continues on the same research fields in termites, doing both fundamental research and applied research in the field (mainly South America, Africa, and South-East Asia) and in the lab where he breeds many termite colonies. So far, he published over 90 publications, including two books and two book chapters.
