Michael Ioelovich graduated Ph.D. in 1984 from the Latvian State University, and a D.Sc. in 1991 from the Latvian Academy of Sciences. He received a Habilated D.Sc. degree in 1992 from the Latvian Academy of Sciences and was elected Leading Scientist and Professor. His research areas were chemistry & technology of plant biomasses, cellulose, pulp & paper, cellulose derivatives, polymer chemistry & technology, and polymer composites. From 1993 to 2000, Prof. M. Ioelovich worked at the Israel Institute of Fibers and at various Nanotech, Biotech, and Chemical companies in Israel. Prof. M. Ioelovich published 14 monographs and book chapters, and more than 400 scientific publications in the field of structure, chemistry, physics, technology, and nanotechnology of biomass, cellulose, and synthetic polymers, as well as biochemicals and bioenergy. He is also the author of 14 patents.
