Maria Teresa Mascellino graduated at the age of 25 years in Rome during the period of 1980 and specialized in Clinical Microbiology at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). She works as an aggregate professor in the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases. She was responsible for the Simple Operative Unit of Microbiology. She has published about 100 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute for several scientific journals. She is reviewer for important international Journals and for the Research Projects of the Ministry of University and Scientific Research of Rome other than referee at Fund for diseases control of Hong Kong. She teaches Clinical Microbiology to Medicine students at the University of Rome and was in charge of teaching for foreign students at Trinity College in Dublin in the years 2011-2012
