1. Please introduce yourself. What would you like your reader to know about you?
- (My curriculum has been printed on the book cover). I have been busy in analytical chemistry in various fields of the environment and agriculture, starting from mineral water, earth sciences, dust, soil, green plants, fertilizers, feedstuffs and food. I got specialized to element and trace element analyses, mobility and speciation. I did a lot of element screenings.
2. What is your inspiration/motivation?
- The motivation for a special publication of my work is that some conference proceedings, and earlier publications, are not contained in databases
3. How long did it take to complete your book from the idea to publication?
- The invitation to do so, came in February, and the final publication was finished in November of the same year
4. What's the main message and idea of your book "Analytical Methods for Multi-Element and Special Element Analysis" and "Contents and Environmental Mobilities in Soils and Sediments"?
- In earth sciences, you have to find your own method, which has to be possible with the instruments available. Drying, homogenization and digestion are more critical than the final determination. In agriculture, often old and laborious methods have been established long time ago, which should be replaced by equivalent methods automatically obtainable by use of more modern instrumentation. Because in many cases, the head of the department is not an analyst himself, this is difficult to implement.
5. What was the most unexpected conclusion you came up with while preparing "Analytical Methods for Multi-Element and Special Element Analysis" and "Contents and Environmental Mobilities in Soils and Sediments"?
- No unexpected conclusions
6. How would you describe your publishing experience with Eliva Press in a few words?
- Very kind and patient, in case I have been not so familiar with computering
