Godwin MTETWA was born on the 4th of January 1963 in Chipinge, Zimbabwe. He received a BSc. degree in Agriculture Management from Zimbabwe Open University and a National Diploma in Agriculture from Gwibi College of Agriculture. He was awarded The Johnson Prize for the best Engineering project. Currently he is working at Chiredzi Research Station in the Department of Research and Specialist Services under the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development as a Principal Research Agronomist. His professional interest focuses on cassava, wheat, maize, rice, sorghum, sugar beans and wetlands research and development. Current projects include evaluation of new cassava varieties for semi-arid regions and Deficit irrigation to improve water use effectiveness in wheat and maize under semi-arid areas. He has published several papers on crop agronomy.
