Since higher education is one of the most important segments of social life, it is reasonable that through a retrospective of the events and development of language education Albanian to offer the public a real overview of this issue. The legitimate right to higher education in the mother tongue is guaranteed by international acts, however the journey to the practical realization of this right within the public system in the Republic of Moldova was difficult and in this direction concrete activities that have been undertaken will be added to the work. starting from the civic initiative to the officialization of higher education in the mother tongue. Initially, importance is given to a history of the development of higher education in general in the Republic of Moldova, but the position of Albanians in this system is also examined.
