Phenological features are critical for understanding adaptation to climate change due to their relationship with abiotic factors. However, there is no information on phenological patterns for Ajuga species, particularly Ajuga bracteosa Wall ex. Benth and Ajuga parviflora Benth, which are important medicinal plant species in the Kashmir Himalaya. Therefore, we present a desire to look at the differences in phenological features within natural populations. The duration of life span was longer in populations growing at lower altitudes than in the higher altitude populations of both the species. Highest asynchrony was observed in the anthesis among different populations which resulted in asynchrous seed maturation. First sprouting remains for 56 days and second sprouting persists for 25 days only. Recurrent sprouting of A. parviflora is reported for the first time in the species besides flower colour polymorphism was reported in the species.
