Sadly, in most Bible colleges, the theology classes are the most dreaded ones, especially among freshmen. It is the general consensus that theology is reserved only for the initiated. I want to argue that theology is a discipline for all Christians and it is of utmost importance that all believers get acquainted with the major teachings articulated in the Scriptures. This book will examine the Christian doctrines as found in the Bible. These teachings will be explained using plain language trying to abstain from as much theological terminology as possible to make it suitable even for the most theological novice. In addition, many Christians view theology from an ahistorical perspective, meaning that for many, Christianity began at the Reformation at the earliest. This book will try to fill this historical lacuna and show that, as theologians, we stand on the shoulders of giants that precede us by 2000 years. It is my aim that this introduction to Christian doctrine will foster a hunger for the Word of God and will cultivate an intimacy with God that surpasses all worldly attractions.
