Modeling a musical structure or performance is an acknowledged research domain in computational musicology. In the present work we attempt to model a devotional song Aye Malik Tere Bande Hum using a time series model. Additionally, the probability of the notes are calculated and hence their information content is measured. Melodic weights of the notes are computed whereby we verify whether the melody lengths are uniformly distributed over the lines of the song or not. Further, a comparative analysis is done between the recording of the song Aye Malik Tere Bande Hum and the raga Bhairav, which this song is based on. Both the songs are compared through statistical analysis of note duration, IOI (inter onset interval) graph , pitch velocity (rate of change of pitch) and pitch movement between the notes.
